Boeing Reports $5 Billion Plane Order From Indonesia’s Garuda

Garuda, out of Indonesia, has reportedly placed a $5 billion order for 50 planes from US plane company Boeing.
Boeing has confirmed that 50 of the company’s new 737 MAX 8 jets will indeed be sent to Garuda as competition in Asia’s skies continues to grow.
Garuda chief executive officer Emirsyah Satar said, “This order helps continue our commitment to offer the people of Indonesia and south-east Asia the most comfortable, most efficient air travel in the region.”
Garuda currently operates 77 Boeing 737s, but the move to purchase the new 737 MAX 8 jets, the most fuel-efficient 737s ever, should save the Indonesian company a good bit of money on fuel prices.
