AMS 5893 is a sub-type of Nickel Incoloy 909 that features exceptionally stable thermal expansion coefficient and constant modulus of elasticity.
This makes it ideal for very high-precision applications that call for extreme measurement or calibration precision. A typical application of the AMS 5892 is the manufacturing of gauge blocks that will not be affected by high temperatures.
The particular allow can be hot worked between 1800℉ (982℃) and 1900℉ (1038℃), and must be air cooled instead of water quenched.
